CALGARY - A $147-million contract to design and build an expansion of the Winnipeg Convention Center has been awarded to Stuart Olson Dominion Costruction Ltd.

The project will enlarge the existing complex in downtown Winnipeg by about 400,000 square feet.

It will also include energy and environmental design improvements.

The contract was announced by Stuart Olson's Calgary-based parent, The Churchill Corporation (TSX:CUQ).

The company expects the project to be completed in the last quarter of 2015.
